Hi! There are a lot of activities for children in Paris...other than Disney!
Many of the parks in Paris such as les Jardins du Luxembourg offer activities, there are rides and games and best of all a great guignol...a puppet show, even if your kids don't understand french they will love it...I love it as an adult! ;-), other parks as well offer bassins with sailboats that you can rent for your children to play with, the Bois de Vincennes has the Paris Zoo and many other games and horse rides (also at Bois de Boulogne), the Museum of Natural History is an amazing building with a huge evolution gallery with all sorts of whales and animals from all over the world...they'll love this too, and perhaps so will you! The ride up the Eiffel Tower is a thrill for kids, you may consider this as an option. The Cite de Sciences at la Villette has all sorts of hands on activities for children and it's also educational. If your children speak french there is a good number of plays and theatre for childeren as well. A typical amusement park in the summer is La Foire du Trone, you'll find here all sorts of rides and games for children and adults too. There are other theme parks outside of Paris such as the Parc Asterix, if your children are familiar with this french hero! It's a lot of fun! Another theme parc is France Miniature.......so besides all the attractions I'm sure there will be some choice for you and your children.
About babysitters...well I don't know about this one but I'm sure if you're staying at a good hotel they'll be able to take care of this.
