G'day Cambece

An interesting venue for a first 'cold climate adventure'! I'm not sure how you propose to reach Heard Island, which is one of the more remote places in the world. As far as I know, no tourist boats go there.

Apart from Australian government sponsored research/biology expeditions, there are no inhabitants on either Heard of Macdonald Islands. So you would need to take everything needed for your stay.

Still, if you can make it you will have an interesting time. The islands are just inside the Antarctic Convergence, which means they're surrounded by cold oceans. The climate is windy, with rain/sleet/snow year round and Heard Island is largely covered by ice and glaciers. Heard Island has Australia's only active volcano. Great for wildlife though, mainly seals, penguins and seabirds.

cheers
