Hi, Stevo, my name is Kathy and I was in Georgia - Tbilisi and Batumi - last summer and will return with my husband in mid-Jan. for two weeks. I felt very safe there! I know it is close to the Caucasus, but I felt very carefree as an American. I was there just after Bush's visit. I loved Georgia. Can't wait to get back. Hope you go and enjoy yourself!! KR

You will be absoultely fine in Tbilisi. The warning comes about because of the Abkhazia region in the north of Georgia, bordering Russia. There is no threat to tourists in the capital.
