hi, can anyone recommend to me a budget dive operator for sipadan dive package. wld also appreciate it if you can recommend some hotels that we can put up in tawau and the indicative rates. thanks!

u can try borneo divers, they do decent rates. u dont need to put up in any hotels in tawau for a dive package tho. the jump off to sipadan is in semporna, abt two hours from tawau. hotels tht are reasonable may be monaco or marco polo. i dont know any dive operations tht are budget to sipadan, most are more or less the same, unless u wanna do day trips.

if you take a dive package, you will either stay in mabul island or kapalai (which is not really an island but a resort built on a coral atoll just below the waves). note that all resorts were removed from sipadan island itself.

If you contact the hotels/ dive operators via internet, you will likely get an inflated price.

Both companies accomodate guests in Mabul and dive in Sipadan. They have different rates for guests from Sabah, West Malaysia and from overseas.

If you are solely here for diving than don't put up night in Tawau. Once arrived Tawau airport, you will proceed to Semporna to take a speed boat to the Island. If you are here for the seafoods too, you can stay at the Belmont Marco Polo Hotel about RM160++, Emas Hotel RM120++, King Park Hotel RM110++ or the Heritage Hotel RM100++ or even few clean budget Hotels rated at RM80++.
