hquittner recommended a visit New Iberia and "Evangeline country". I found a Evangeline Parish and the town of Mamou looks interesting by its website. "Benvenue Mamou" describes it as an artisti hamlet in a grove of woods. It looks like it might be a worthwhile stop in our journey between Morgan City (Cajun Country) and the tourist town of Natchitoches. Anybody know about this region of Louisiana?
