Figueres Travel Forum

Anyone know of a cheap hotel in Figueres or Roses?

Which town do you prefer? Where are you trying to go? There are several places in either.

Iwant to visit both and/or stay in either

Why Roses? Have you been to the area before? I only ask becasue I have spent three summers in the northern Costa Brava (Cadaques and Llanca)and made a side-trip to Roses and did not care much for it. For my tastes it was too built-up and modern and lacked a soul. If you have already been to Cadaques then... otherwise I can suggest Hotel Rocamar, Hotel Llane Petit, Hotel Octavia in Cadaques proper or Hotel Calina in Port Lligat. For Roses you can visit this site: http://www.rosesnet.com/roses/guiaing/alohoteles.htm however I cannot comment on the hotels there. The only restaurant that is of interest is El Bulli of course and if you decide on Cadaques I can suggest quite a few.


For Figueres- I rentet a home close enought to drive there and visit but living in NYC, I prefer not to stay in the city whilst on holiday. I'll do some research and revert.

I've booked a couple of nights now at the 'Prestige Marysol' for Janaury now.
The reason I wanted to stay in Roses was to suss out a possible beachy holiday for the summer maybe and also stay near to Figueres where i could visit Dali's bithplace. Then i'm goin on to the mountains. I'll let you know how i get on if you like.
