Palau Travel Forum

Hello!
I & my husband are planning to visit Palau in December.
We'll stay at Carp Island Resort.
But we don't know which room is good for us...
Has anyone stayed there before?
Which cottage is the best? (Seaside cottage? New cottage? Suite cottage? or Divers' house?)

Carp Island has an interesting layout. The best rooms are not in the best locations. The honeymoon Suite is the best cottage, however, it sits next to the pig and chicken farm so the smell is terrible. Also, it is on the side that is most affected by the tides, so that your view will consist of mud flats.

The Diver's house is best for those on a very tight budget.

My advice is to rent the complete Seaside cottage (duplex) even if you will only use 1/2 of it. This will maximize your privacy, viewing, and smelling comfort. (hopefully this will also be a hint to the owners that something should change).

Finally, for those that have stayed in Tahiti's Kia Ora Sauvage- Carp Island is nowhere near that experience.
