| Baden-Baden | airport bus - train station - centre of town? Posted: Mon December 5, 2005 09:40 AM UTC
Going to baden-baden this weekend. Have managed to find lots of info about the airport bus etc - it arrives at the train station - but I can't find anything about how to get from the train station to the centre of town (hotel colmar) and it looks quite a long way. Are there any buses? WOuld I be better off just getting a taxi from the airport?
Please help!! Lxxx |

Baden-Baden bus map
http://www.karlsruhe.de/KVV/download/lnp/lnpbadb.pdf Bus line 205 (dark green) connects the airport (Airpark Terminal Abflug/Ankunft) with the train station (Bahnhof) and the centre of Baden-Baden. Closest bus stop to your hotel is Hindenburgplatz. This is one stop before the big (on the map) bus stop Leopoldsplatz. http://www.karlsruhe.de/KVV/download/sfp/205.pdf Single ticket is EUR 3,00 (to anywhere in Baden-Baden.

Railway station to Hindenburgplatz will be no problem as these stops are served by nearly all bus lines (see map).
DB timetable http://reiseauskunft.bahn.de/bin/query.exe/en From: Baden-Baden Airpark (will default to "Flughafen Karlsruhe/Baden-Baden Terminal, Rheinmün(ster)") To: Baden-Baden Hindenburgplatz But the Airpark is not served later in the evenings and on Saturday or Sunday on a scheduled base. Therefor I better translate this sentence "Weitere Fahrtmöglichkeiten von und zum Baden Airpark bitte unter 07221/277 - 352 erfragen!" from the printed timetable. "Please ask for further connections to and from Baden Airpark at 07221/277 - 352 !"

If you arrive at a time when the bus 205 doesn't run and have to take a taxi you can save some money by only going to the train station and transferring there to the bus 201 which runs every 10 min, also on sunday, into the city center.

Baden-Baden station is 13 km away.
16 min by bus. Single ticket is EUR 2,50. http://www.badenairpark.de/pdfs/205_eng.pdf Same time by taxi (approx. EUR 26,00). http://www.badenairpark.de/htmls_en_fh/arrdep_taxi.html Strictly seen Baden-Baden is not the closest railway station but the closest railway station of use for you.
