Jerez de la Frontera Any decent hotels in Jerez at the end of jan 06?
Posted: Fri December 2, 2005 06:37 PM UTC
dear all,

My husband and I are planning a trip to Andalusia at the end of Jan 06. We will arrive at Faro and head east to Jerez straight away. We have some difficulties of finding a decent yet resonable priced hotel for one night. Do you know any decent hotel to suggest? Our budget for that night is around 60-70Euros and we don't mind somewhere outskirt in a smaller town as we will rent a car for the trip.

Your suggestions would be very much appreciated.

Jerez has quite a number of hotels and at end January the prices will be good because it is 'low season' ! If you find a hotel in the city centre, you may find the roads a little difficult to navigate without a decent map. there are 'one way' systems so you need to be 'street wise' ! If you like modern simple clean hotels then you could consider the IBIS which is on the main A4 road just south of Jerez on the way to El Puerto de Santa Maria. You should pay around 50 for that plus any breakfast. nearer the centre but not in the centre but fairly easy to find.

In May I stayed at Hotel Casa Grande in the centre of Jerez - a beautiful building and excellently run. Low season rate is 75euros for a double. The hotel has a website - www.casagrande.com.es - and user comments can be found on www.tripdvisor.com. Should you stay there I hope you will be as comfortable as I was.

Have a look at the AC hotel (http://www.ac-hotels.com/main.asp). I was there recently on a bussiness trip and it's new, clean, free use of the fitness room....

In another trip I stayed at Hotel Los Jandalos, a bit more upscale, beautiful building in the very city centre. Prices about 80-90€ but they may have special offers: http://www.losjandalos.com

Hi again... just learnt that Hotel Tryp Jerez has offers from 50 euros/double if booking trough its website: www.solmelia.com

(a colleague is going next week... looks nice and located in the city centre)

By the way, the best tapas in Jerez at Bar Juanito (old town, calle Pescaderia Vieja close to Plaza del Arenal). Pescadito frito and their special artichokes! Yummm....

The Tryp Jerez basic room is small and clean. it's in a great central situation. They have a basement car park which is also handy but you need to get a map from the front desk to find it as it's down a narrow street behind the hotel! Extra charge for it.
The AC Hotel mentioned above, is actually built as part of the main modern football stadium and is very nice but is too far to walk into the centre of town. It's only a short taxi ride. It's a good location if the home side are playing and also a good place to stay for the May feria as you can walk easily !

Hi,

I have a 2 bedroom apt. in Rota, a beach town 20 minutes from Jerez.
I rent it out for 250 euros/week in low season. It has capacity for 5 and is 1 a 1 minute walk to the beach. If your interested in more info e-mail me and I´ll send some pictures.

We've stayed in the Tryp Jerez several times, and been very satisfied. They do a good breakfast buffet, hot and cold. Good deals on line at the sol-melia web-site www.solmelia.com. Very good situation, just a few minutes stroll from the centre.
