I want to visit Brest with some friends in the first week of March 2006. We're looking for a cheap hotel or hostel. We don't need luxury rooms, just a place to sleep.

What's the temperature approximately at the end of february, beginning off march?

Can we withdraw some cash from ATM's?

What are the prices for things like:
- a meal
- bread
- beer
- trainticket to Minsk
- taxi

Hans, don't worry about the prices, everything is going to be cheaper than in Belgium. I would say roughly 3-4 times less, except drinks when you go out to a nice bar and international train tickets. You'll have a good time. Have fun.

Well, its a pity that people from western Europe know not much about Belarus and sometimes even think that it is the end of the earth... But it is also EUROPE! And there is civilization, be sure!!! I live in Baranavichy- a city not far away from Brest where you are going in March and I will be glad to show you my place if you wish. What concerns prices for food and other things-they are cheaper than in most west europen countries. What concerns accomodation-in Minsk I can suggest you my friends flat free of charge. Give me only details: how many friends also going with you, your purpose of traveling to Belarus and for how long. Of course, the end of february is not the best time for traveling to Belarus, but if you are good and friendly people it doesnt matter...
