New Years Eve in Central Europe
Posted: Thu December 1, 2005 05:36 PM UTC
I will arrive to frankfurt in December 27th, and I still don't know where I'll go for the new years eve. My options are: Amsterdam, Prague, Vienna, Ljubliana, Milan, Bratislav
Considering I'm going alone... I wonder what place you can advise to me

Thx
Antonio

Well, I would suggest a ski resort. No need to go skiing, you may need the daytime to cure the hangover.

I recomend Krakow. Amazing city + Very easy to do trip to underground town in Wieliczka (13 century salt mine). Not far mountain resorts are situated.

Budapest, Prague, Krahow...all very nice places indeed. But when traveling on your own, you want to meet other people. Are locals /or other visitors( in these cities celebrating New Year's Eve and Day outside in the road, have public parties or festivities etc? I have seen many places with (almost( everything closed on these days, because everybody seems to celebrate in family or friends' circles.
