Hello, I'm from Boston, and am trying to think of a Christmas gift for my girlfriend. I was thinking a weekend in PEI would be really nice, and I could combine it with proposing that weekend. So, I have a bunch of questions. What airport would I fly to to get to PEI? Any idea how much it would cost? Anyone know any romantic cottage/spa/hotel on the island? Recommended restaurant? What should we do there? Is 2 full days enough time (leave Thurs night, take off Friday and return Sunday)?

PEI is a summer destination with most things opening in early June and closing in last September. Top restaurants/Inns are " Inn at Bay Fortune " , and "Dalvay-By-The Bay" both expensive and both close in late Sept. You may find something in Charlottetown. If not try Quebec City, instead.

Are you planning on flying to PEI for the Christmas weekend? If so, your flight options are not that great. During the tourist peak there are more flights from Boston to Halifax, where you could connect on a short hop over to Charlottetown. But at this time of year, the few flights that are offered are now booked up or overly expensive.
Delta is showing the best connections and price, but you're still looking at over $2000US for both of you just for airfare.
Perhaps book the trip for early June, but give her the tickets as a gift? It would be a better trip.
