WILL BE HOLIDAYING IN JAIPUR IN JANUARY 2006 FOR 2 DAYS ACCOMPANIED BY HUSBAND AND 14 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER.
WE ARE HANDLING SIGHTSEEING AND TRANSFERS OURSELVES. WHAT IS THE MOST ECONOMICAL WAY TO SIGHTSEE IN AND AROUND JAIPUR? IS A HIRED CAR WITH A DRIVER OR A TAXI MORE FEASIBLE. PLEASE HELP WITH ADVICE AND TIPS THANKX |

Jaipur isn't a big city: you can walk to most of the sights (Jantar Mantar, Hawa Mahal, City Palace, etc). You'll need to take a cab to Amber, tho'.

The most charming and economical way of touring Jaipur will be to hire a cycle-rickshaw... they are slow, which is actually a plus as you'll be able to take in the life of the city.... for Amber and other far off sites, i'd get a taxi (though there are plenty of buses that ply the roads there if you want to do it on the cheap).
