| Antigua and Barbuda | Thinking of Antigua Posted: Tue November 22, 2005 10:33 AM UTC
Has anyone stayed at Blue Waters in Antigua ? I am planning a trip for next year and would be taking a ten year old and a baby. Not sure which hotel to go for - Jolly Beach looks good for children but Im not a big fan of big hotels. Blue waters looks more my kind of hotel but does anyone know about location as far as beaches and what it would be like for kids ? I will look at most hotels really just a general view from anyone who has been would be very helpful.
The other Island I have looked at is St Lucia but the beaches look quite dark so I don't know if it would be as nice. Any help would be great ! Has anyone taken a baby out there also ? If so any advice ? Thanks ! |

I’ve visited Blue Waters for a meal and a drink on a couple of occasions. From what I saw the hotel looked really nice, the surrounds where pleasant and the beach was sandy and nice and close to the hotel. The hotel is located on the North of the island (http://www.stay-in-antigua.com/accommodation_map.php) and is set back in a small cove which makes the water quite calm. I didn’t see many kids there, but I was only there for a quick look. Jolly Beach is fairly good for kids but is a fairly large hotel/resort.
The beaches in St Lucia are nice, but not so good for kids. I think Rodney Bay is the one of the best beaches on the island (sandy and fairly long, but narrow). - James

hi
try renting apartments on jolly harbour. it is the same resort as jolly beach, same amenities etc. we stayed there 2 years ago it is a lot cheaper, spacious and well air conned. jolly beach is the best beach for kids. watch out for other beaches around island as the tides are heavy check it out on net. cheers andy

My two favorite islands, you'll find dark sand beaches in St. Lucia nearest to the Pitons / Soufriere. Antigua beaches are awesome and most are rather calm and very light blue on the carib side. I have pages for both islands.
