Hue Queries about Hue

I plan to visit Hue in early Dec but have queries...
Is there any intercity bus from Hanoi to Hue and back to Hanoi?
How long is the travelling time by the bus?
How many days in advance do I need to book the bus ticket from Hanoi?
How many days will it be enough to see Hue?

Thanks :)

Yes you can catch the bus Hanoi-Hue go to any travel agencies and there are many who will happily book your tiecket. According to the Sinh Cafe brochure I picked up 2 years ago it is 16 hours by bus(660kms),leaving Hanoi 5.30pm $US 9 pp one way. Hope this is useful.

Sorry forgot to answer all the questions.
I would say 3 days will give you a chance to spend 1 day on the Perfume River day trip very good, a day to lok around the Citadel & museum and maybe a day to wander around the town and look at other things??? You should be able to get a bus the day after booking.

Tourist bus daily leaves at 7:00pm and get to Hue at 6:30 - 7:00 next day.
Price around 7 - 9 $ ( in the Old quater ).
3 days for Hue is ok.

I would say i prefered the motorbike trip rather than the Perfume river boat trip which a bit slow- and sometimes you even need a motorbike to go to the tumb as the boat stops a bit far away. The boat tour i found was a bit slow. I saw more in half a day by motorbike than during a whole day cruise, although the cruise is very cheap. So i would recommend the motorbike if you want to see as many tumbs as possible (Khai Dinh was my favorite) , or the Perfume river boat if you want to take it easy. Two days minimum and three days maximum i would say.

Actually, I travelled by open bus from Hanoi and arrived Hue at 6 or 7 am. I rent a mortorbike to go around Hue, and in 1 day, I visited almost the popular destinations, inlcuded the market. Driving in Hue is soo nice, cause the streets are not crowded. Everything just seem slower in Hue.
3 days is ok, but if i have a choice, I 'll go to Hoi An for the next day.
Good luck,
Hien
