We will take ferry from Naples to Capri. Where to take the boat to go to Blue Grotto ? The same Carpri port? And how much is it to take the boat?

when you get off the ferry in Capri, the port is Marina Grande, the small boats that go out to the Blue Grotto are in the same marina closer to land. There is a little ticket booth where we got tickets. We were there at the end of the lire - based on my recollection bring lots of 10 euro notes. You pay for the boat, for the smaller boat that goes into the grotto, for two or three other things like the benevolent boater association, and of course a tip for the boatsman. All separate and all cash. The passengers on guided tours go in front of you even if your boat gets there first, so allow 1 1/2 - 2 hours if you are going in the morning.

when we went, the US dollar was much stronger than today and I would estimate roughly $30 per person. In euros now, it would be more. Sure it's a tourist trap but how can one not go? BTW, slightly off the main street of Capri we had a great lunch at a place called Casanova. We stumbled in because a sign in front indicated public bathroom, but on returning to our room in Positano we discovered it was the only restaurant in Capri with a star from our guide book. Enjoy your trip.
