Since the posting is in the Rarotonga forum I believe we can assume that that's where they'll be..;o)

I went to Rarotonga in June as well, and it was certainly warm enough for swimming, no problems at all. Enjoy!!!

So sorry i find 22° is about the average temperature for the islands in June/July. I hear the Aroa Lagoon is a beautiful place to go swimming. Have a good time xox

For temperature history check this: http://www.stats.gov.ck/Miscellaneous%20Statistics/Misc_Table.xls#'7.6 Climate '!A

or for extensive details, at wunderground: 1http://www.wunderground.com/history/airport/NCRG/2005/6/16/MonthlyHistory.html.

Water temp does not get colder than 22°C, so average is higher: in the Rarotonga winter months (June-July-Aug) it usually is between 24-26°. Swimming should be OK in June, although some people who like it hot might find it a little chilly at times, especially for lengthy snorkling rounds. (You may want to consider that the eastside of the island is the leeward side, so it is better protected from the wind).

The avg air temp of 22°C mentioned by JessMay is correct, but that includes the cooler night temps (which in June can go down to 18°C). So the daytime avg (which is most probably when you'll be swimming) is higher. See the details (per hour if you want) on the Wunderground statistics.
