In Jan. four of us (female) will be in Alcupulco. We would like to see the cliff divers at night.
Should we go through NCL or is there a safe alternative that would include transportation to and from as well as a good location to watch the divers? Will we need to make reservations? If so, where and how? Thanks! |

You can book it once you get there. It might even be cheaper. If your into timeshare presentations you might even get it free :)

Any taxi driver can, easily, take you to/from La Quebrada - the location where the dives occur. I'm guessing that the cost of doing this on your own will be less than the cruise line charges. But, if you like the comfort of being with other travelers on the ship, tag along with them in the group. Depending upon the time of your ship's arrival, you could have dinner in the Zocalo area - say, at El Amigo Miguel - and then take a taxi or walk the relatively short distance to La Quebrada. Or, you can take a taxi to La Quebrada and walk back down the hill to the Zocalo and sit in one of the sidewalk cafe's and watch the parade of people pass you by. The streets in that area are safe to walk back and forth, IMO. If you have a Mexico travel guidebook, have a look at the Acapulco section, there's a good description in most (I like both the Moon guide to Acapulco - which I think is the best - and the Lonely Planet Mexico/Acapulco guides).

Hi
My wife and I were in ACA on the NCL Spirit in November. Tour 701 "The City Tour With Cliff Divers was $45USD pp. It is quite safe and a lot cheaper to go on your own. Have a great time. Walt
