Hi
We're going to Kyrenia over Christmas. I know the Troodos mountains in the South usually have snow on them at Christmas, but as the Kyrenia range is lower are we likely to see any snow on them? Thanks |

No. Snow is very rare on Besparmak (Pentadaktylos) Mountains and when it snows up there, the snow melts after a couple of hours. Mind you, this can also be the case on the Troodos mountains in the South in December. Usually snowfall comes after January.

Thanks coscon. It would have been nice to see some snow, but it will be nice to get about easily without the snow!

Unrelated question on Besparmak (Pentadaktylos) Mountains. I will be there this weekend on my way to Kyrenia for diving on Saturday. Would like to hike in the local mountains as they are nearby. Would you suggest starting my trek outside of Kyrenia or is further west or east a better hopping off point? Thank you. Best regards, Bill.
