| Dali | Jim's Tibetan Hotel, 4 Seasons Hotel in Dali Posted: Wed November 9, 2005 01:10 PM UTC
Hi,
We're visiting Dali in mid-November and considering staying at a. Jim's Tibetan Hotel. This seems to be a different hotel from Jim's Guesthose and Peace Cafe. http://www.china-travel.nl/english/guesthouse.htm b. Old Dali Inn No. 5 (4 Seasons Hotel). http://treehouse.ofb.net/guide/viewplace?placeid=363&lang=en We're wondering if anyone has stayed at these hotels recently and can give us some feedback on these hotels pls? Thank you. |

I have no ideal about the Guesthouse in Dali, but i am well known about the Hostels & guesthouse in Lijiang. If you need help, please feel free to tell me.
The best one HOtel in Dali, i think it is the Landscape HOtel, it has 3-star, 4-star Rooms. Lovely courtyard with reasonable price.

So can you recommend which place to stay at Lijiang? Must be clean & convenient. Don't need a fancy hotel but the price must be reasonable.

have not stayed at either place yet but planning to go there, so this is based on what I've read so far
4 seasons is opened by a Taiwanese and has good reviews, it's been around for a while, in old town Jim's Tibetan Hotel is new, outside of the citywalls/old town but brand new, good reviews but no heat in the building

I'd recommend Red Lantern Inn for Lijiang & Tibetan Lodge for Dali.

Hi,
we were in Dali in April this year and stayed in Jim's Tibetan Hotel. It's not the same like the Hostel, but they both belongs to Jim - a very nice guy. The Hostel is in the old town and is much simpler, but very nice. The hotel is arround 400 meters away, just behind the old city wall. Is also very nice but of course more expensive. Jim build the hotel last year, I think. There is a restaurant on both places, where you can get great food. So you should make the decision depending on your budget :-) But both are nice places! Cheers, Agni

Hi I just came back from Jim's Tibetan Hotel & loved it, I actually did not check out Jim's guesthouse but it should be cheaper vs the hotel (spacious room with 3 beds for Y250)
