Could you please tell me which airline you would recommend from LP to BKK?
Also, we may fly within Laos and would prefer to avoid Laos Aviation.
What other airlines fly within Laos?

Laos Aviation is fine....flew with them last year. I think the reports about parts falling off the plane in mid-air are a bit outdated! (I had heard them as well!)

I think most LP flights transit through Chiang Mai, at least that's the story for Thai Airways and Laos Airlines (no longer Laos Aviation).

Most flights in BKK connects to Vientienne instead.

Also, unless mistaken, there are no other Laos airlines.

I am flying Bangkok Airways from BKK to Luang Prabang, then Lao airlines to Vientiane and Lao airlines again to return to BKK. Bangkok Airways also fly from Chiang Mai to LP. Lao airlines now have newer planes which they use on these popular flights.

The fastest way from LuangPrabang to Nabkok is the direct fligth with Bangkok Airways.

As for domestic flight, you don't have the choice, you have to fly Lao Airlines. I flew with them in January between Vientiane and LuangPrabang. I didn't feel unsafe at all.
