I'll be flying into Palm Springs on the 25th Nov for a break prior to the start of the Anthony Robbins seminar and wanted to know whether I would need a car to get around to see all the sites. Also any suggestions on where to visit, eat, etc and modes of travel would be greatly appreciated?
Many thanks |

A car would be beneficial in Palm Springs and the rest of the valley. I recommend getting one

Yes, you should definitely rent a car. If you have the time, ride down to the La Quinta resort for a meal. It's a beautiful place and has a terrific Mexican (not Tex-Mex) restaurant.

a car would be recommended if you want to tour around the area but if you are staying around central palm springs for only a day or two and just need to get to restaurants, walk through some neighborhoods, etc, you can do it without a car.

Glad to help. That area of California is a bit deserty but also very pretty. The weather should be fantastic this time of year. I even know where Pinner is. :-)

A car is definitely beneficial as Palm Springs doesn't have much by way of public transporation (although there are some bus lines around town). The aerial tram is supposedly fantastic (although I have never personally been). About 30 minutes west (a straight shot down the 10 freeway) is the Desert Premium Outlet Mall in Cabazon. Cabazon also boasts a nice casino...and there are some other casinos in and around Palm Springs as well (Spa Casino, Agua Caliente to name a few). El Paseo is a neat little street off Highway 111, to the south, in Palm Desert...with tons of restaurants and eclectic shops. The main strip in Palm Springs is fun as well and also has tons of restaurants and shops. There is a mall on Highway 111 in Palm Desert and you will find terrific bargains all through the weekend.
