Is there any way to send mail to Baghdad/Iraq?

Although postal service had been interrupted for Iraq, it appears now that it has been resumed, with restrictions. If you are planning on sending something to someone in the military, please read http://www.usps.com/supportingourtroops/ - note, however, that on the right, there is a box that says "Suspension of Mail to Iraq", but when you click on the link, Iraq is no longer listed as a country to whom postal services have been suspended....I assume that this box has not been updated...

Sorry, I just noticed that you are in Germany. Well, I assume that the Bundespost (or whatever you call it now) has a similar website that details the level of services available around the world...I could look for it, aber hoffentlich Sie besser Deutsch als mich sprechen...;-)

Thanks for the anwers. My plan is to send some christmas stuff to my old friends in Iraq, but this is not working by e-mail ;-) .

just for the record. i was finaly sending a letter with deutsche post that finaly arived after three weeks. costs?: less than five euros!

Amazing! Just 3 weeks from Europe to a war zone....when I lived in Europe in the 70s, it took 6 weeks to send stuff back to the States by surface mail...and we were all (allegedly) at peace...
