RYOKAN in Kansai
Posted: Thu November 3, 2005 02:11 AM UTC
I am looking for a ryokan in Kansai area (Osaka, Kobe, Nara, Kyoto). I want it to be trully Japanese - a house in a quiet place with meals and a garden.

You can check out this page:

I have never stayed in a ryokan in Kyoto/Osaka area as I lived closeby, but I recommend finding one in Arashiyama. It's in the western part of Kyoto and BEAUTIFUL. It's not as bustling as central Kyoto so you'll find yourself in a calmer and more serene atmosphere. :)

Hi!

I have found one
http://www.oohara-no-sato.co.jp/english/index.htm

I have to confess that I have never been to this ryokan...
But according to their website, it looks very nice :-)

Its rooms are Japanese style, it has a garden (some rooms seems to face the garden) and open air bath.
The price is not so expensive...

Hope this helps :-)

Ayurin, osaka Japan
