Cayo Coco Travel Forum

Hi! Has anyone been to the Hotel Playa Coco in Cayo Coco. I know that it is fairly new, but would like to have comments about it... I am going with my family in Feb 2006..

I got back from Playa coco a couple of weeks ago. Hotel is ok. I wouldn't put it as a 4* as advertised, more like a 3*. Hotel itself is fine - it is very large, but the problem was the lack of entertainment, lack of daytime activities, not everything was open, food (apart from the al a carte restuarants) was not very nice. This may be becuase it was a quiet time? when you go it may be busier & more might be operating.
Beach was really nice - but quite a few jellyfish in water.
Hotel is next to mangroves so take insect repellant!!!!
There is nothing else to do around the hotel - which may suit you just fine, but not what we was after. We had to book last minute after cancelling our holiday to Bali because of bombs, so I think we were dissapointed as always comparing to the type of holiday we should of been going on!
Any more q's just ask!

I was there the wk after the hotel opened. As it was quite new,the staff had some confusion but that was to be expected. The beach was fantastic.....walk for miles and miles when tide out. My only negative comment would be the male masseuse and I would make sure not to have hime again. He had a shaved head but can't remember his name. Stay away from him unless you want a little extra!!
