Hi
I am interested in visiting in both summer and winter but not sure where to go for both seasons. I would also like to visit east and west but again will probably be 2 trips. Is west best in winter or summer? Any opinins welcome. I would like to visit Ilulissat but wondered if the glacier/icefiord wont be as spectacular in the winter as in the summer. Does the glacier still calve in the winter? Many thanks Alison |

dear Alison, Greenland is not NY. transportation is very limited all year around, especially in winter time. if you have no intention to coffee all day indoors, you MUST choose summer trip. for winter arctic- think about other destination (what about barrow, AK?). east and west is possible, on the summer you can use local boat circular service to go along the shore. Glacier & iced-fiord are incredible all season, but you have to consider that on the winter you will not be able to go to see them :-((( and someplaces everything will be frozen.
