Don't know about scooter rentals, but I want to let everyone know that Spirit Airlines, starting February 'o6, will be flying directly into Grand Turk Island from like 12 American gateways. I'm flying April 2-12 right into Grand Turk from Tampa, Florida with a stop in Ft. Lauderdale on a special promotion of $9.00 each way! Isn't that incredible? Of course, with all the taxes and 9/11 fees, the total comes to $115.oo, but hey, what a deal! I found out about it in an e-mail from one of the many travel sites that send me mail, and I booked my trip immediately. If you look up Spirit's web-site, you'll see it. No more Sky King flights from Provo. at $140 r/t. Watch Grand Turk Island explode with tourism now. Here come the plaid shorts and socks with sandals. Glad I'm going before it has time to grow much. A really nice girl named Monica at Blue Water Divers has arranged my rooms for me, I'll be at Manta House for 7 nights then at Salt Raker Inn for three nights, then out and home. I haven't been to Grand Turk before so I would greatly appreciate any and all remarks about the island, the hotels, the beach and water, the bars, restaurants, anything. Not much on the web about the little place, except for diving info. Looking forward to my trip and any responses. Keep on truckin---------------

I guess you replied to my post after I went to Grand Turk. I stayed at the Salt Raker. It's right next door to the Manta House. If you don't havea car or scooter, you are pretty much stuck. I walked along the main street and could not find any small stores to by sodas or snacks. Having a car or scooter would have helped. However, I went on Thanksgiving weekend and the scooter rental place was closed. :>(

Oasis Divers was a great company. They are a couple of doors down from the Salt Raker and Manta House. Tai is a GREAT divemaster, and was really great to me.... so treat him nicely!

The trip to Gibbs Cay was well worth it. I did not bother with the long trip to Salt Cay. Night diving was also a lot of fun.
