Freiburg im Breisgau Frankfurt to Freiburg by bus?
Posted: Wed October 26, 2005 01:03 AM UTC
Hi.
I'm planning to come stay in Freiburg at the start of December for a few months. I checked out the train fare from Frankfurt to Freiburg and got an idea on how much that is. I was wondering if there is a regular bus that you can catch to make the journey. I can't find a website which will show me a timetable or cost.

Does anyone know the approx. cost of a one way journey from Frankfurt to Freiburg by bus?

Also to rent a furnished flat for 2 people what is the average cost per month and is it relatively easy to find some available once I arrive?

Thank you for any advice you may have.

No bus.

If you travel on a Saturday or Sunday you could make the journey with local trains on the Happy Weekend Ticket for EUR 30,00. This ticket is valid for 1-5 persons.

On weekdays you could travel From Frankfurt Airport to Mannheim by ICE (EUR 19,60 pp) and from there with local trains on the Baden-Württemberg Ticket for EUR 23,00 to Freiburg. Also valid for 1-5 persons. This ticket covers furthermore also the trams and buses in Freiburg.

DB timetable
http://reiseauskunft.bahn.de/bin/query.exe/en
and select as means of transport "only local transport" if you plan to use the Happy Weekend Ticket or the Baden-Württemberg Ticket.

Izzynoel,

there are as a general rule no long distance buses in Germany (forget Eurolines). Short distance buses are feeders for train lines.
