| `En Gedi | Bus to Eilat?? Posted: Mon October 24, 2005 04:42 PM UTC
HI! We are going to stay at the Ein Gedi kibbutz hotel in Nov and then we want to go from there to Eilat for a couple of days before heading back to Tel Aviv for our flight home, so we wanted to know if there are any buses going from En Gedi to Eilat on sundays or what is the cheapest way to get there?
Thanks |

sunday is not a holiday in israel, so the busses are running.
you might need to grab a local bus to arad, dimona or beersheba, but it's certainly possible to get there by bus. i used to live in a moshav not far from ein gedi and often took the bus to eilat on my days off to go snorkelling.

| `En Gedi | Bus to Eilat?? Posted: Mon October 24, 2005 06:11 PM UTC For some reason i dont see any bus going on Sunday from En Gedi To Eilat or to Arad. in other days there are though one or two a day. Om monday there's bus 384 that pass through or start in En gedi at 08:00 and at 12:30pm. Maybe you could mail the gueshouse or hotel where you stay and ask them about the posibilities, im sure they would love to help and they might even have more ideas as maybe there are local solutions that we dont know about. The best is www.egged.co.il , they have detailed and accurate information about all their bus lines (which consist most of the buses operated in Israel), and probably an English platform too.
I think that line 444 (Jerusalem - Eilat) stops in Ein-Gedi on both ways. The lines to Eilat are the only lines in Israel in which it's possible (and very recommended) to reserve a seat, up to 3 days in advance. Note that Sunday morning there may be more passengers, as this is the end of the weekend in Israel. You may also call Egged (and also buy the ticket by phone), 03-6948888; wait a little on the autamatic reply for getting the English automatic reply.

You can also send an email to the hostel and they can send you the exact times when the bus passes. the buses run on an exact time. I remember that I had to take the last bus from the Ein Gedi Kibbutz to the Massada which was at 1pm and from the Massada the last bus to Eilat was at 5pm.
