Hi! I am a Filipina and I am contemplating on a job offer in Port Moresby. I would like to know if it is safe for a filipina to work in Port Moresby? Are there a lot of filipinos working there in Port Moresby?

I know of a couple (former schoolmates) who are working there, their children were born there, and they have called PNG home for the past 15 years. In fact, the guy is an officer of the Filipino association in PNG. Based on their stories, PNG is "safer" than the Philippines and if there's an existing association, then there must be quite a number of kababayans there.

My fiancee just got to live and work in POM last month. I'm really desperate to be there too, but i can't find any I.T. related jobs there. Could you please help me on getting a job there? or maybe with the help of your frined? I am a software developer here in Cebu, and had an experience on Management. Thanks, Mark

IT jobs in PNG is increasing rapidly. How about starting a business yourself in PNG. I believe there are business opportunities here in PNG you can venture into. Let me know your thoughts. I am a Papua New Guinean based in Lae working as an IT Analyst. Nick
