I wish to find some nice accommodation in Polonnaruwa. I have read reviews of the bigger hotels (e.g. Royal Lotus, Rest house, Sudu Araliya) but they are not very good - the hotels sound tired and the service is bad. I would therefore like to find a nice guesthouse with nice rooms and hot water. Could anyone recommend one?

I haven't stayed at P. but in nearby Giritale at the Giritale Hotel ( described by LP as the "flashier option".
The rooms at this hotel are fairly basic but clean and well tended. the real appeal are the views of the Giritale tank. I would recommend this place.
