My husband and I are thinking of going to Squaw Valley for our 25th anniversary. We are not skiers but appreciate the area. He does'nt want to go until the gondola is open. Does anyone know if that is worth planning our vacation around since we are not skiers? Also, any recommendations about the Inn and area.

Sorry this is a tardy reply, maybe too late...
The tram is open at sqaw all year long. In the summer you can go up and hike around on the mountain, eat at the mid-mountain lodge. They even have a skating rink that they open in the fall. Obviously the area is more busy in the winter, but even the locals will go there in the summer for some of the bars and music.
