| Warwick | What are some hotels near Warwick University? Posted: Tue October 18, 2005 12:19 AM UTC
I'm in a delegation of 8 people going to Warwick Uni for a meeting with key personnel there. We are looking for accommodation at a reasonably priced hotel near Uni.
Any recommendations please? Warwick Uni postcode is CV4, does it mean the nearby hotels are postcode CV3,4,5? Thanks for your help. |

This is confusing, but Warwick University is not in Warwick. It is in Coventry. This means you need a hotel in Coventry and not in Warwick. The postcode is only a general indicator. I work in the CV4 postcode, which is near to the university, but too far to walk. I live in the CV3 postcode, which is far from the university.
I found this list on the Warwick university website: http://www2.warwick.ac.uk/services/international/a but many of these hotels are far from the uni. If you dont have a car, it may be difficult and long to get to the uni from many of these. I work near the university, so on my drive home from work, I will see if I pass any hotels or guest houses that are nearby.

Coventry is a bit of a hole though (in English this means ugly place).
The university is connected during term time every 20 mins. with Leamington Spa, 8 miles away, and a much nicer place. Even if you stay in Coventry you would have to get a bus. Leamington postcodes are CV32 etc. There are some very nice B & Bs in Clarendon Crescent, and there are bigger hotels in the main street, the Parade.

Many thanks to both VT mates. I gave up guessing whether CV7 was nearer to CV4, or CV32 was nearer to CV4. Just booked at The Village Hotel and I suppose I'll see if it suits everyone.
Thanks again.
