Ottawa Aristocrat Suite Hotel + surrounding
Posted: Wed October 12, 2005 06:56 PM UTC
Hello,

I'm thinking of staying at the Aristocrat Suite Hotel which is around Cartier and Cooper streets. I'm wondering if anyone's had any experiences with this place. Also, what's that area like? Is it quiet, bustling, etc...?

Thanks in Advance!

I only can tell you a little bit of the area. It's quiet, 2 to 3 blocks from the business area and city hall. 2 Blocks from the Rideau canal, which is nice to walk along (to Parliament hill and the Bayward area). There are a couple of nice reataurants and pubs in a 15 minutes walking distance. At the other side of the canal the student area starts.

Hi, I stayed there last month and was pretty pleased with it. It's a great location because all the attractions are within walking distance but at the same time, since you're a bit outside of the really touristy area, it's very quiet (and safe). My room was large and clean, nothing too fancy but still very nice, with a balcony.

And just so you know, there's another nice hotel just across the street, the Cartier Place Suite Hotel. They're pretty similar...

As noted above, the area is quiet..yet close to lots of attractions. You can easily walk to the Byward Market area, the Rideau Centre (shopping), the Rideau canal (skating). Also, the area has alot of lovely homes to look at. You will be close to Elgin Street..it has lots of restaurants, grocery store, shops...lots to entertain you.
Enjoy your visit!
