Me again!
Does anyone knows if there is somewhere to stay in Lopes Mendes? Some small cheap hostal, or even camping (but for camping it would be good to have bungalows, cause you're not carrying tents and sleeping bags from Portugal!!!)? My boy-f keeps on asking me that, since it's the only surfuble beach in Ilha Grande, as far as we know! Thanks!! |

All buildings, houses, pousadas, campings are forbidden at Lopes Mendes beach. You are right, this is the best beach for surfing, but you can stay at Vila do Abraão. From there you will find a trail to Palmas, a small beach at 1:30 hours from Abraão. Here you can take a drink or eat some shrimps and continue for 30 minutes to Lopes Mendes.
All trade is also forbidden at Lopes Mendes; take some water or fruits with you. Another solution is taking the boat at Abraão. That will cost you 20 reais. Luc, Paraty RJ, Brazil

Sim, eu sou belga mais eu moro em Paraty e eu gosto muito. Se vc precisa de mais informações sobre horarios de barcos, onibus, passeios,... é so mandar um mail.

Eu visitei o Brasil no agosto, e Ilha Gradne e o paraiso mesmo. Uma pousada recomendabel é Bromelias, tamén gostei da Ilha dos Meros.
AS trilhas pela Mata Atlántica son imperdibels e tamém os passeios ate Lagoa Azul e Lopes Mendes. Tchau
