I will be driving from Zihuatenejo to Puerto Escondido and have to pass Acapulco. Does anyone have any suggestions/directions as to the best way.

Very different from both Zhuat and PE, you may want to have a look to reinforce the reasoning for smaller places.

No problem driving through ACA. Stop for lunch, and make your way back onto Hwy. 200 for the trip SE. Hwy. 200, at present, has some rough spots due to various recent storms, so the going will be slower than you might expect. Road repairs may take months (sometimes they take years!). Good maps of Mexico are avaiable online or from your bookstore, etc., if you want to consult one before arriving in Mexico. Or, you can simply buy a Guerrero road map when you're in Zihua.
