| Extremadura | Weather in February Posted: Mon October 10, 2005 03:08 PM UTC
We are experienced travelers, and Spain is our most frequent destination. But for work-related reasons we are able to travel only in winter months. We have been wanting to visit Extremadura (especially Caceres and Merida) for several years, but have heard that the weather in winter can be quite, well, extreme! Can anyone give us a sense of what it might be like to spend ten days there in early February (4-12)? Thanks!

I live presently in Extremadura and... well, in February it's usually cold, but not really extreme. I will try to explain: if you get up at 7.00 a.m., temperature will probably be in a range from -2ºC to 5ºC. But by 13.00 it's easy that it will rise to 12º/16ºC if you have a sunny day (they are quite common, even in winter). Don't expect snow: I have only seen it once in non-mountain areas of Extremadura. It doesn't rain very much.
So, don't let the weather stop you from travelling here. If you need more info, just ask. Greetings.
