Stopover...What to do?
Posted: Tue April 29, 2003 01:51 PM UTC
hello people,
i have this option of having a stopover for a few days in the maldives included in my plane ticket to india. the ticket is pretty flexible and i could stay anywhere between one day and several months(!) now, i'm not much of a lie around the beach and do nothing kinda guy, so this is definitely quite the interesting proposition for me. what else is there to do in the maldives other than absolutely nothing? and should i take up the offer from the airline? anyone else been in similar situations?

Never been there - but when I hear Maldives I must always think of scuba diving, hearing the enthusiastic stories from friends who have been there. If I would have a stop-over there I think I would try out just that...
Hope it's an idea for you!

I & my husband have visited Maldives once.
If I were you, I wil stay Maldives as long as I can, then I will enjoy snorkeling, scuba diving, massage, sweet cocktails. :-)

Enjoy!

wiley....

maldives is more than lie on the beach...you should check out the biplane tours that takes you out to the end or the atolls....

go snorkellin there and believe me, it's like swimming in the aquarium...and better.

check out some of the smaller islands and see the true lives of the maldivians and if you have a chance, try the fresh guava juice and rum, that's sure to kick in the fun...

and lastly, the atolls and much of the maldives will no longer be there anymore as they are slowly sinking back into mother nature's wombs...

got to go and see it....

Hehe, don't worry.... even if you can't swim. you can float on the water.
The ocean is made of salty water , so you cant sink :-)
