Zermatt Travel Forum

Hi there,

I will probably be travelling from Venice by night train to Zermatt using Eurail pass. I know that i will need to pay for my ticket from Brig to Zermatt. I would like to check where am i able to buy or make reservations for the tickets? Can i buy it in Rome??

As i am short of time, will only by able to go by night train. Is the morning train ride a better option?

You can buy your ticket at the station as well or on the train for a couple of francs more

You can't reserve a seat on the Brig-Zermatt train, it is just a local train. Maybe you can buy the ticket in Rome, in any case you will be able to buy a ticket from the vending machine in Brig, where you will change the trains.

It is very easy to purchase a ticket at the train station in Brigg to Zermatt. The town is very small and the lines are very short and the people very helpful. The ride is over an hour and the scenery is nice.
