I purchased a large needlepoint print from an antique store in Texas. It has a label on the back stating:Galerie de Kathedraal, kerkstraat 30, den bosch, 073-130942. It also has a print number:7546.
I am curious to see where it came from, anything on it. My father-in-law was quite impressed, he was raised on kerkstraat.He was born and raised in Holland, they came to Canada in the 1950's. Any info would be appreciated. |

There's no Galerie with that name anymore at Den Bosch.

It looks there's a clothing store(?) at that address now:
"Scapa of Scotland Men Gebied: Centrum (city center, I assume) Kerkstraat 30 5211 KG Den Bosch Telefoon: 073- 6140148" from http://www.favouriteshops.nl/winkels.asp?id=56 and also see http://www.denbosch-web.nl/adDetail.asp?ad_id=61940 If you really want to pursue this, you might contact another gallery in Den Bosch and see if they remember Galerie de Kathedraal. Look at http://www.galeries.nl/mnkunstenaar.asp?artistnr=3739 and on the left hand side (half way down) in the box under "snelzoek" (quick search), enter "Den Bosch" and hit enter. You'll get a list of galleries in (and near, I think) Den Bosch... Happy hunting! Bill
