Chengdu Travel Forum

I will travel to Chengdu this October. I would like to see the Great Buddha in Leshan. Could you please tell me how to get there from Chengdu and how far is it from Chengu. How much does it cost for transportation to Leshan from Chengdu.

It is already one year ago when I tried this(I got sick and lost some days in Chengdu so I had to cancel the DaFo) but you can take the bus from the station next to the Traffic Hotel. Price should be less than 50 Yuan (because the express bus from Chonqing to Chengdu took a little bit more than 4 hours for 107 Yuan, whereas Chengdu-LeShan should be less than two hours thanks to the expressway...)

If I remember correctly, it's around 1.5 hour bus ride from Chengdu to Leshan. Then you hop onto a local bus (costs 1-2 yuan) and it will take you to the entrance of the Big Buddha. Or you can get off at the ferry dock and go there by ferry. I think most ppl get there directly by bus, as it's faster.

Go to the Xin Nan Men bus station, the station near traffic hotel, it cost you 40 RMB and takes less than 2 hours (1 hour 40 mins officially)depends on the traffic. And from where you get off at the bus station in Leshan you have to transfer a public bus or just simply take a taxi to grand buddha's entrance.
