I am taking my wife to New York for our anniversary and would like a good hotel up to $250 a night. It is our first time in NY and we would like to stay somewhere fairly central to the sites.
Any suggestions would be appreciated

Try the Roosevelt Hotel or the New Yorker Hotel.

Go to tripadvisor.com and look at the user ratings ans the prices of the hotels.

Hi Richard.
I stayed at the Wardorf Astoria earlier in the year. I found if you shop around there are some good deals for staying there. I think it's because there are now some very plush hotels nearer to Broadway now which command the huge prices. The thing is though - The Wardorf is a few minutes walk away from just about everywhere thats touristy - Central Park - 10mins. Grand central - 5mins.
5th Av - 3mins. Empire state - 10mins. Broadway - 10mins. Or you could just get a cab!!!!
