| La Spezia | Accomodation suggestions Posted: Thu September 22, 2005 03:13 AM UTC
Hi all,
this is my first post so I hope it works ok. I will be arriving from Rome to La Spezia on the 4th & staying till the 8th of October & am looking for any suggestions for a cool place to stay. There are 2 of us and we would like our own room and close to the action & transort etc. Ive been reading the forum and also like the sounds of a B & B but would prefer not to spend more than about 60 euros a night if possible. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks & cant wait to get there! Belle Sydney-- Australia |

La Spezia is nbot that remarkable, you'd better look for an accomodation at Cinque Terre or Portovenere, in my opinion. Prices may rise a bit, maybe, but you'll find something <60 eur/night for sure.

Hi There...I stayed in Levanto but visited La Spezia several times. It really is a great town and I had a look at accomodation because if I cant get into Levanto, I would happily stay here. There were nice little hotels on the way down to the ferry with cafes all around. There are also nice boutiques near Piazza Cavour. I went to a really fun flea market:one of the best ever. Check to see that it is on the Sunday you are there.I also enjoyed the Amedeo Lia Museum. One of my favorite places is Portovenire and it is an east bus ride from La Spezia. The train lets you hop between the towns of the Cinque Terre.La Spezia is clean and the area at the ferry end is attractive. The locals are so nice. I got a free bus ride because the local police took pity on me and my feet at the end of a longs day wandering. The town feels safe. Have a lovely time in La Spezia.Dont forget to frank your train ticket before you get on board... Cheers Jackie
