HI! These are islands (mostly rocks and little isles) in the South China Sea, currently being claimed by both China and Vietnam. In Chinese, they are called "Xi Sha Qun Dao".
The island groups further south are the Spratlys (in Chinese: Nan Sha Qun Dao") - claimed by 6 nations in parts or in its entirety: China, Taiwan, Vietnam, the Philippines, Brunei & Malaysia.
