Qatar Qatar to the UAE by road

Hi,

Can you drive from Qatar to the UAE on land? I heard it's difficult (or near impossible) to get into Saudi Arabia by road but can you get to the UAE without having to go through SA? On a map it doesn't look like there is a direct link.

Thanks for anyones help.

Pete

This question has been posted before in the UAE forum, and my good friend Amir answered... I've done some research and found it to be correct:
Qatar doesn't have any land border with UAE. One must drive through the KSA.
Have a look at the following map for the proof:-)

Hope this helps,

Well, Qatar has a border and it's quiet difficult to cross this border....you will need a visa for KAS.

Otherwise try to go there by the sea..may be you can find a sort of ferry....

Go by air and find a Saudi guy to drive your car by KSA

If you have your visa for UAE, you can probably ask for a transit visa.

If you are a resident in Qatar, this may be quite easy to obtain but keep in mind that you need a double entry in order for you to return home.

Good luck

Not the answer I was hoping for but thanks anyway. Alhtough it looks like on the map as if it should be easy for them to build a bridge to the UAE bypassing Saudi Arabia. Oh well, maybe in an other life.

Thanks to everyone,
Pete
