| Nanning | Nanning - Hanoi once again Posted: Sun September 18, 2005 06:11 PM UTC
We are 2 families travelling Oslo-Shanghai-Hangzhou-Beijing-Nanning. The children are 9 years old. We would like to end the trip in Halong Bay/Cat Ba and go home from Hanoi. The hard part is to cross the border to Vietnam. With 2 children it should not be too straining. At the same time the adults would really like to see this part of Guangxi and the border part by Pingxiang. - Is it true there are trains only twice a week? Morning trains preferable to see the landscape- when in the morning? Train goes through border? When does it arrive Hanoi? Would be greatful for answers! And sorry to Ritchie Lionheart for being so ignorant that I didn't check how far - 300 km and not 60... Thanks in advance!

I think you can go to Pingxiang by bus. It's not far away from Nanning, maybe three hours by bus. And you can go to Detian to see the second largest waterfall in the world if you have time.

Detian transnational waterfall is a sign of Guangxi, you can't miss it.
