Ko Tao Travel Forum

Hi!

I'm looking for a cheap and quiet place. Pitching a tent on the empty beach with snorkling oportunities would be ideal. Is it possible on Ko Tao? If not, do you know such place in Thailand?

I do......Koh Ngai/Hai, off Trang. Super, quiet unspoilt place. We stayed at the Fantasy but next door was a basic but great local restaurant. I noticed people staying in tents there, it did have a shower block too. A little slice of your own 'deserted' island. Well not diserted but pretty close to it. You just swim, watch the sea, walk, snorkel, boat trips with some fantastic coral and wonderful, brightly coloured fish, eat, drink, little old lady on the beach you gave some wonderful massage and just enjoy the atmosphere. As you can guess, I loved it there!

We stayed in the busiest part of koh tao (this was in february), 3 kms from the port and even that was pretty quiet.......... im sure that amongst the other beaches there you will find exactly what you are looking for. I would have to say that Koh Tao was the best place I went to in Thailand as you could do your own thing there, no hassles- hope it stay that way too. Have fun
