Coco Beach Resort vs. Atlantis Beach Resort

I was almost settled on Coco Beach for a 3 day/2 night trip to PG in December but then I read some awful reviews on another website saying that the food was awful and the resort employees were rude to Filipinos (I am Filipina, my husband is American)! Is there truth to this? Then I looked at Atlantis, w/c looks lovely, but of course, more pricey...if anyone has an opinion on either, I'd appreciate it! Thanks!

We have been to the Atlantis Beach Resort 2004 and thought it was wonderful.It may ba pricey but worth every $.Loved the beach and the facilities--lots to do.There are so kinds of people there I doubt if your cultural background matters. Have not been to Coco Beach so can't compare the two.

Haven't been to either one but I know Coco Beach is a ways (10 mminutes by boat) from Puerto Galera, if you're looking for something away from the action. If you're divers, you're probably better off at the Atlantis. When I was in PG in January, I met some people staying at the CB, they seemed to like it although they would have liked being closer to the action.

They are right about Coco beach.My brother and I (both balikbayans) stayed there. We were always served last in the restaurant with very average food.It's almost like we were being discrimanated against in our own country. The beach is full of sea weeds, it's dark green.There was never enough lounge chairs by the swimming pool.I would definitely recommend you to go somewhere else. Spend a bit more and you will have a good time.

I stayed in Atlantis last year, it looks like a Flintstone hotel which I think adds to its appeal. The food is good and rooms are nice. It has a small pool for those who do not want to head off to white beach. I suggest you book there. I heard in Coco Beach they use beach water in their toilets. I hope I'm wrong! Yikes that would be too sticky.
