RE: How to get there and back Posted: Thu September 15, 2005 11:10 PM UTC
Granada to Tarifa is possible by train or bus.
The Granada to Algeciras route is available by bus or train. Refer to www.movelia.es for bus times and www.renfe.es for train times. The train goes via Ronda. The bus goes via Malaga and the Costa del Sol.
Once at Algeciras you have to get a local Tarifa bus. The bus company is 'COMES' and you can get the times on www.tgcomes.es
To return to Madrid from Tarifa you can go back to Algeciras and get the train to Madrid via Ronda and Bobadilla. Get times at www.renfe.es
Alternatively you can get a bus from Algeciras to Sevilla and then take the AVE fast train 2 1/2 hours journey time on the train. There is a bus company called LINESUR that do Algeciras-Sevilla route. They leave from the main road opposite the ferry terminal buildings. There website is never showing any times (www.linesur.com) but they should have direct buses around 09.00, 11.00, 13.00, 14.30, 17.00, 18.30 and 21.00 every day according to the paper timetable I have.
more details availble at Tarifa. Not certain if there is a better route perhaps via Cadiz to Sevilla from Tarifa.
