I want to travel on Friday, September 23 from London to Inverness. Is this a very busy route and day for travel? Many thanks for any information.

Are you talking about train or bus?

I can't see why that date should be particularly busy, but if you are talking about the train, a reservation is only a small amount and may be worth it for the peace of mind. On a bus, only the correct number of tickets are sold, so you'll get a seat anyway.

fergy.

easyjet does a flight from (I think Stanstead, maybe Luton) for just over 30 quid - worth checking - probably cheaper than the train.

Friday is always a busy day for intercity train travel, and it's possible tickets will cost more.

Booking in advance, either for plane or train, will almost certainly save you money and give you peace of mind.
